PE & Sports Premium
Intent
Our school's approach to PE as a subject and our use of the Sports Premium grant is designed to strengthen the quality of physical education and sport across the school. Our focus is on improving teaching and learning in PE, increasing participation in a wide range of sporting activities, and ensuring children develop confidence, skills, and positive attitudes towards being active.
We work to provide engaging, age-appropriate opportunities for all pupils, including those who may be less confident in sport or have additional needs. Through specialist support (including external coaching), targeted training for staff, and access to high-quality resources, we aim to raise standards in PE and help children enjoy regular physical activity that supports both wellbeing and attainment.
Implementation
Parents can expect a broad programme of activities throughout the year, including structured PE lessons, sports events, and opportunities for pupils to represent the school where appropriate.
On top of the timetabled sessions, we compete in a wide range of competitions and offer enrichment opportunities to all pupils.
The school also offers OPAL at lunchtime to ensure that all pupils can engage in active learning and play.
Impact
We monitor impact carefully, using clear measures to track participation, progress, and outcomes, so we can continually improve how the Premium supports every child attending our school.
We also review the curriculum content on a regular basis to ensure that it is meeting the National Curriculum guidelines but also supports emerging cohort needs.
The following documents details our reviewed strategies for our Sports Premium.
